Ardmore School provides a variety of rich learning experiences for all ākonga through our regular EOTC activities. Through these experiences, ākonga participate in whānau group or whole-school trips that support learning across different areas of the curriculum. Our EOTC programme offers unique opportunities for ākonga to try new activities, including hosting visitors and outside providers who bring fresh experiences to our school.
School-wide EOTC days and events embrace the concept of Tuākana-Tēina, with older students supporting younger ones to build strong relationships and develop new skills in a supportive environment. Annual school-wide events include Matariki Celebration Day, School Cross Country, Swimming Carnival, and Tabloids Day. The bi-annual Year 7 & 8 camp to MERC (Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre) is always highly anticipated.
Additionally, Ardmore School offers opportunities for ākonga to participate in optional annual events such as the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge and the Weetbix Tryathlon.
By participating in EOTC, ākonga develop key life skills such as resilience, teamwork, risk-taking, adaptability, and self-confidence in authentic, real-world environments.
